Jack Williams is an active Republican. He is former Chairman of the Greater Birmingham Young Republicans. He served as President of the National Republican County Officials. Jack was a delegate to the 2008 Republican National Convention, He helped former Republican Party Chairman Marty Connors to found the Southern Republican Exchange, a conservative think tank dealing with state and local issues.

Jack is married to the former Glenda Cantrell, an Associate Professor of Telecommunication and Film at the University of Alabama. She is the past President of the national Broadcast Education Association. They have two sons, Regan and Jordan. They are members of Fullness Christian Fellowship.
